The Gettysburg Big Band, comprised of 17 musicians from Gettysburg and surrounding communities, performs at local dances, concerts and community events throughout the year.

The band was initially formed nearly 25 years ago as The National Apple Museum Dance Band, due to its association with the museum in Biglerville where they still rehearse weekly. Over time, the band has undergone numerous changes and has become one of the leading 'dance bands' in South Central Pennsylvania.

As a group, the band members are from all walks of life - both active and retired - but they all have one thing in common and that is the love of the music they play. The band has steadily increased its repertoire to include the most popular and original arrangements of the great Big Bands of the 30s, 40s and 50s and they strongly believe this music deserves hearing today.

The Gettysburg Big Band is currently associated with the Gettysburg American Legion where the band performs monthly dances open to the public.
